Nursing College
The Nazarene College of Nursing is a Christian institution of higher learning. The International Church of the Nazarene established the then Nazarene Nursing College in 1928. The ownership of the college was transferred from the International Church to the local Church of the Nazarene in 1992. The college became an affiliate of the University of Swaziland in 1989 in order to strengthen its academic credibility.
Since 1982, the college has received personnel salaries through a subvention to Raleigh Fitkin Memorial Hospital (RFMH) from the Government of Swaziland, Ministry of Health (MOH). The other major components of the college operations are sustained with student fees. In November 2008, the college was transferred in principle from the MOH to the Ministry of Education and Training (MOE). As soon as the nature and scope of this transfer is realized, the salaries of the personnel at the college will be regulated in a similar manner as for other institutions of higher learning under the MOE.
